Colbert Desktop

Yeah, so I was cleaning up my HD and found a few images I wanted to icon. So, I did. Plus the 2 I'd previously made but hadn't publicly posted.

Well, what I mean is, there are probably actually only 12 or so, but I started doing color variants/different crops of Gob on the couch. Because it's Gob. Giggling (sobbing). On the couch. Come ON!

And most of the others are Michael and Gob. Because they're like the awesomest brothers who ever did awesome.

Various icons I've twiddled around with over the past few months. Apparently, blue and purple are the colors I seemed to gravitate towards for these, which I didn't notice until I grouped them all together.

If you haven't seen this movie, do yourself a favor and run out and rent it, right now. Probably the funniest movie of the year ( and yes, I've seen "Superbad" and "Knocked Up" :D ).

REBOOT: It's been awhile since I've done anything slightly iconic and I need something to distract me in the wee hours of the morning, after I get home from work. So, leave me a picture, and I'll make an icon for you. :)

Daniel Craig as James Bond. The commercials for "Casino Royale" and a really, really good M/Bond fanfic by Astolat (M is probably the only woman who could play James so exquisitely) inspired me to watch "Layer Cake" again today, to get a Craig-fix.

Which got me to thinking about Daniel Craig some more and then someone (thank you) posted some pics from the movie, et voila, a few icons. LOL.

Well, it's been a looooooong time since I made icons. I mucked around a bit last night, just to get back into the swing of things, but the rust is a cruel mistress. Here are 12 Stephen Colbert icons I've had sitting on my HD for awhile now, might as well put them out there. Thanks to peeps at tcr_images for the caps/scans. In case you're wondering what this "Charlene" thing is all about, Stephen used to be in a band during the 80's called "Stephen and the Colberts"... He made a video for one of his songs: "Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)", which, in fact, does not violate the restraining order she filed against him... ;) HEE! So, if you haven't seen the video and you're a child of the 80's, you really should CHECK IT OUT! ( if you do watch it and can tell me which band he's ripping off with the arm/face thing near the end, I'd love you, because I can not remember and it's driving me crazy! )

You guys know Anne Taintor, right?  She finds these fabulous old school photographs and puts captions on them, like so:

Well, over the past couple of nights I've gone through and cropped a lot of her images into icons.  You'll notice that some of them look fuzzy or grainy or spotty or whatever... that's because they're old photographs and I didn't want to mess with the integrity of the picture - that's part of the charm.  :D

My biggest battle was trying to crop them so you could still kind of read the text and get a feel for the picture, itself...  I wasn't quite as successful on some as on others.

So, if you see something in there that you'd like me to spend a little more time on ( more than the five minutes each )... to sharpen up or enlarge the text, leave me a comment and I'll take a whack at it.  :D

Also, I don't need credit on these, because I did virtually nothing but crop and border them.  I'd prefer you credit Anne Taintor or her website in you keywords if you take any.
